All about RefWorks

RefWorks is an online citation manager that helps you with your in-text citations (via the Write-n-Cite download if using RefWorks Classic) and your reference lists/works cited pages (via the Sullivan Library RefWorks page; use this link every time unless you are working in Write-n’Cite).

The handouts tab for this blog lists some useful files. They are:

RefWorks 2.0 (.doc) RefWorks is a citation management program which helps you build your works cited/reference list pages with a few clicks of the mouse. You can either manually enter your citations (by filling in the author’s name, the article title, etc) or you can automatically export them from databases. Once all your citations are in RefWorks, you can click a button to create your bibliography.

RefWorks 2.0 Exporting From Databases (.doc) This short handout gives some tips about how to automatically export citations from many of Sullivan Library’s databases in preparation for creating your bibliography.

**NEW** RefWorks Instructions for Custom Printing (.doc) If you need to edit the fields that appear when you create your bibliography — for example, you want to also include a Notes field and an Abstract field — you can edit the style to do so. This example adds the two mentioned fields to the APA 6th style format and was originally written for OT421.
