Thursday, April 28

Earth Day — Spring Fest

Celebrate Earth Day and Spring at this annual Spring festival. Watch the STEP and Dance Teams perform, grab a bite at the BBQ, dance to the sounds of the DJ, play a life-size version of Chess, Checkers, Connect Four, and Jenga, take pictures on a giant inflatable chair, make sand art, candy art, and lanyard key chains, get a henna tattoo, and enjoy Dippin’ Dots ice cream. Learn about living “green” and recycling at the Healthy Body, Healthy Earth table and the SAAC table. Free T-shirt giveaway!

Campus Clean-up

In celebration of Earth Day, do your part to help keep our campus clean and beautiful. Meet in front of Hennessy Center.

Third Annual Iron Chef Competition

Calling all student chefs… sign up with your team of three in Granito Center to enter the cooking competition. The first three teams to sign up will battle it out on the Granito Patio.

Saturday, April 30

Stateline Hike

Take a break from it all and enjoy the scenery of the Hudson River, the Tappan Zee Bridge, and the George Washington Bridge as you hike along the New York-New Jersey Stateline. Once you reach the bottom, start a campfire and make some s’mores and hot dogs before you hike back up. Bring plenty of water. Sign up in Father Ron’s Office in Casey Hall.

Van departs from the Granito Center at 11am and returns around 4pm.

Sunday, May 1

Shuttles to the Palisades Mall

Departs 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm;

Returns 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm, 4:30pm, and 5:30pm

Departing from Hertel Hall

New York International Car Show

Come see some of the world’s best cars and trucks at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. Get sneak peeks on brand new 2011 and 2012 models and concept vehicles. Tickets are $7 each and include  transportation to and from Dominican College. Contact Jessica.Flores (at) dc.edu for more information. RSVP with payment by Friday, April 29th in the Student Activities Office.
