Therapy dogs draw visitors to the Library

DogTherapyGroup

This past Tuesday, 6 dogs visited the Sullivan Library to help visitors de-stress between classes. For two hours, the dogs and their trainers hung out in the Learning Commons, while over 75 students and staff stopped by to pet the dogs. The four-legged visitors included: Victoria (Cavalier King Charles), Lola (Rottweiler), Moon (Treeing Walker Coonhound), Jack (Burmese Mountain Dog), Shaina (Poodle), and Luke (Rottweiler).

We want to extend a big “thank you” to the Hudson Valley Visiting Pet program for sharing these beautiful animals with us and to Margaret Giuliano of the Office of Special Services for coordinating this event (and for providing delicious, dog-themed cookies!). If you want this event to come back in the Spring semester, be sure to let Margaret know.

You can view all the pictures from the event on the Dominican College SmugMug page, plus select images on the Library’s Pinterest page. If you have any pictures from the event be sure to share them with us on Facebook and Twitter!
