Working late into the night and stumble upon a research question that cannot wait until the morning? Need some help from a librarian ASAP but are located off campus? You are in luck because chat reference is always open at the Sullivan Library! Chat online in real time with a librarian 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! No account is required and the chat is anonymous.
To use chat reference from our homepage, scroll below the Dominican Discovery search box and click on the blue “Chat Now” icon.
A pop up window will appear. Type your reference or research question into the box and hit enter to send. A librarian will respond to your question within seconds!
If you had a great chat and want to save the transcript, click the envelop icon within the chat box to email yourself a copy.
While chat is convenient, there are other avenues to explore when looking for library information. You can always see if your question can be answered by:
- Searching our FAQs to find the answers to frequently asked questions about the Sullivan Library services and resources, research help, and more.
- Using a Research Guide to find books and ebooks, databases and journals, websites, research tips, and more resources to help you do research on a specific subject or for a specific course.
- And of course you can always schedule a research appointment with a librarian. Or simply stop by the library and ask for help!
