Happy National Library Week! NLW runs from Sunday, April 9th through the 15th. Today’s libraries are not just about what we have for people, but what we do for and with people. This year’s NLW theme is #LibrariesTransform and the Sullivan Library has embraced it by spreading the campaign around the library with “Because” statements.
Contribute to our “Expert” wall near the circulation where you can fill out an “Expert in the library” badge. Are you an expert in the library? What are librarians experts in? Share your badge in person on our wall!
Also share your message on social media! Everyone who posts to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #expertinthelibrary between Saturday, April 8 at noon CT and Saturday, April 15 at noon CT will be entered in a random drawing for the chance to a $100 gift card. Check out ilovelibraries.org for more details.
Come celebrate and show your love for the library. Hey, you can even pick up an awesome Libraries Are for Everyone pin! Tell us in the comments (or in person!) how we have helped you. #dcsullivanlibrary #LibrariesTransform #NationalLibraryWeek
Welcome to Weekly Tips & Tricks! These brief posts will share information about resources, services and tools to enhance your experience at the Sullivan Library and beyond!
This week we will share how to request a book that the library does not have in our collection. Just because we do not own a specific book does not mean we can’t help you obtain a copy!
Each April, Dominican College celebrates Earth Week to raise awareness of the environmental challenges impacting our planet. Earth Week runs April 17th – 23rd, 2017. The library has pulled together a display case featuring relevant books on sustainability, climate change, renewable energy and protecting the environment. It is more critical than ever to get educated and involved on the environmental issues facing our planet!
Check out our Earth Week Bibliography featuring print and ebooks from our collection.
Below are some recommended environmental related library databases and online sources of note.
